Playing with Water

It's going to be a beautiful and warm week this week so I thought I'd take B and myself outside for some sun and fun. I think she appreciated the change up since the past few months I've been having a lot of morning sickness and not wanting to leave the comfort of our home much. Now at 21 weeks and finally feeling normal again, we ventured outside and had a lot of fun playing in the water and exploring our backyard.

I filled up one big bowl with cold water and brought it outside with another big empty bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, funnels, and a sponge. I tried to show her how to transfer water from one bowl to the other using the sponge or cups, but she just wanted to scoop up water and throw it. And drink it. It's so cold and yummy!

She had to explore the backyard. Then we had to do a wardrobe change because it is very hot out and her clothes were soaked from all the water throwing.

Make sure you take breaks and hydrate while you explore. It's tough work.

She loved squeezing the sponge and then popping the air bubbles it left in the water. And, of course, more drinking! Who knew you could drink from a sponge?

What a fun day! This is definitely an activity to do again. She spent a good 45 minutes playing and keeping herself entertained.

Help! Our Puppets Need Names!

For Christmas, B got 8 animal hand puppets and we love saying all the animal sounds (we can't say the horse sound yet) and singing Old McDonald.  But mostly, we love throwing them over our shoulder after mommy sets up a decent looking picture.
We have been trying to come up with names for them since Christmas and we have named all but 2.

The momma cow is Cora. The progressive daddy horse is Joe.  He's progressive because he adopted baby monkey Roscoe.  The momma sheep is Mary.  The momma pig is Helga and baby pig is piglet. But poor baby cow and baby sheep need names too.  We need your help.

What should we name these 2? Also, if anyone has any advice for how to rotate a picture on the blog that would be great, too, because I cannot get this picture to show up as landscape.  Grr...computers.
